Create an Appealing Portfolio
Put the best pictures at the top, and get positive reviews!
Use only high quality photos at least 1000px wide jpg’s.Tag the images with 5-25 keywords each for SEO. This helps makes projects more visible on Houzz and also rank organically in search engines.
Organize great photos into completed projects such as “Simpson Kitchen Renovation in Bethesda,MD” and create a descriptive title with a geo-modifier/location.
Engage Prospective Clients
Use this approach. Provide a good user experience by answering questions from the Houzz community, provide helpful information, build rapport with homeowners, and build your authority online. Use the soft sell! Thank users for their interest and later when ready to buy they’ll contact you!
Positive reviews are the number one most important factor to homeowners. Be proactive. Ask clients and other professionals you worked with to provide a review for you.
Create idea books on Houzz to build authority and rank online. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, a few paragraphs and some pics will suffice. Use it like an off-site blog. Post informational pieces, including pics, and link back to your website.
Update your Houzz page and make entries regularly. After a project, post them on your Houzz page using important keyword tags. Update your profile every couple of months.
If you purchase a Go Pro+ membership, you can see important Houzz data showing how users interact with your page. Focus on the “promoted” data which indicates the users in the target market you have specified. This shows how many people have clicked on your profile and added your photos to their idea books in the last 30, 90 days and last year. By noticing the popularity of one of your photos, you can make it more prominent on your site, and perhaps write a post about it.
